Ken Ainscough, (Ken Ainscough Marine Survey & Consultants Pty Ltd as trustee for The Ainscough Family Trust), has been an accredited marine surveyor with Maritime Safety Queensland, Queensland Transport since 1996.
We specialize in Commercial vessel surveys. Our inspections include all facets for marine construction, machinery, safety equipment, load line, practical stability, MARPOL, pre-purchase inspections, insurance risk inspections, condition reports and valuations.
With the introduction of the new NSCV (National Standards for Commercial Vessels) being introduced by Maritime Safety Queensland and the transition from the USL Code for Commercial Vessels, the regulations and legislative requirements are becoming more difficult to keep up with. Talk to Ken to ensure that your vessel is meeting the new standards.
We can also complete paperwork (and submit on your behalf to Maritime Safety Queensland) for all commercial vessels including passenger, fishing and trawling vessels, tenders as well as jet skis, for the following:
• Certificate of Compliance for Survey
• Certificate of Compliance for Safety Equipment with attached Safety Equipment list
• Applications for Loadline Certificates
• Applications for new and/or renewal Commercial Registration
• Applications for Certificate of Survey
• Positive Flotation Statements & Letters of Suitability of Purpose
• Applications for Restricted Use Flags
• Applications for Change of Particulars including engine changes and amendments to Class of ship
• Inspections for new build and/or commissioning of ships
• Stability assessments and incline experiments
It is a condition of Maritime Safety Queensland’s audit requirement, that we hold written instructions on your ship’s file. Should you wish to engage Ken’s services, then the Vessel Survey Contract form should be downloaded, completed and returned to our office at the commencement of Ken’s engagement.
